Share Market Holidays: Stock Market to Remain Closed for Three Consecutive Days, BSE - NSE Provides Early Notice
The stock market will be closed continuously for three days. Apart from the weekly holidays in March, the domestic stock market will be closed for two additional days. On these two days, there will be no trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Information about these holidays has already been provided on both exchanges' websites. According to the information provided on the exchanges' websites, in March, all trading activities in the equity segment, equity derivative segment, and SLB segment will be closed for these two days. Besides the weekly holiday on Saturday and Sunday, the market will also remain closed on March 25th (Monday) on the occasion of Holi. On this day, there will be no trading in the equity segment, equity derivative segment, and SLB segment on both exchanges. After this, the market will also remain closed on March 29th (Friday) on the occasion of Good Friday. Since these two holidays fall in the same week, the market will only be open for three days this week. It has also been informed on the exchanges that there will be no activity in the currency derivative segment on March 25th and March 29th.
Trading in the morning session of commodities and electronic gold receipt (EGR) segments will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 25th. However, trading will remain open for the evening session on MCX. Trading will continue for the commodity derivative segment and electronic gold receipt (EGR) segment from 5 p.m. to 9 a.m. for the evening session on March 25th. Business will remain closed in both morning and evening segments on March 29th, on the occasion of Good Friday. In 2024, apart from weekly holidays, a total of 10 days will be closed in the domestic stock market. In April, the market will be closed for two days, and in May-June-July-August and October, the market will be closed for one day each. Additionally, the market will be closed for two days in November and one day in December.
