Reliance Industries Appoints V Srikanth as New CFO, Alok Agarwal Takes on Role of Senior Advisor to the Chairman

Reliance Industries announced the appointment of Venkataraman Srivathsan as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on March 24th.

Alok Agarwal, the current CFO who has been serving for more than 30 years in Reliance Industries, will now take on the role of senior advisor to the Chairman and Board of Directors. Agarwal will assist the Chairman in strategic matters. According to RIL, both the new CFO and senior advisor roles will be effective from June 1, 2023.



Reliance Industries has announced some significant changes in their financial department. Alok Agarwal, who has been serving as the company's Chief Financial Officer for the last 18 years, will take on a new role as Senior Advisor to the Chairman and Managing Director of the Company, providing strategic guidance to the top leadership. The company has recognized his immense contribution to its growth and transformation journey.


Meanwhile, Srikanth Venkatachari, who has been sharing some of the CFO responsibilities with Alok Agarwal since 2011, has been appointed as the new CFO, effective June 1, 2023. Srikanth has been with Reliance Industries for the last 14 years and has extensive experience in finance.


The company's Board of Directors made this announcement on March 24, 2023, following the recommendation of the Human Resources, Nomination and Remuneration Committee. The decision was made after careful consideration of Srikanth's experience, expertise, and proven track record.


Despite these changes, Reliance Industries continues to perform well in its core areas of operation. The company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹15,792 crore for the quarter ended 31 December, 2022 (Q3FY23). Although this was lower than the previous year's net profit of ₹18,549 crore, the company's revenue from operations rose by 15% to ₹2.20 lakh crore for the same period.
